THE STOCKMAN’S CHALLENGE TRIPLE CROWN 2011:
Because we had such a bad sponsorship experience at King of the Ranges, we will not be involved with this event again. As a sponsor, we at Hawkesbury River Saddle Co expect that the rules are made for everyone - not changed at the last minute - that the scoring is transparent and open - that individuals who are part of the organizing committee are polite and respectful, not hostile and agressive.
Dalgety and Corryong's organizing committees have been appreciative and easy to deal with - and we thank them for being an important part of our Triple Crown Series.
Hawkesbury River Saddle Co has recently sponsored the Stockman's Challenge at the NCHA finals at AELEC - Tamworth. It was a fantastic spectator event - with 4 sections of the challenge represented by 2 handed cutting, whip cracking course, brumby catch & ride and a buckjump. Both Heath & I loved every minute of watching it, and being a part of it. The winner of the Trophy Saddle (A round skirt barbed wire stamped Stockmaster Fender Saddle) was Troy Palmer.
We will be looking for alternatives for Murrurundi, and are talking with various organizing committees. We are also waiting on confirmation of Dalgety running again, as they are in the middle of changing venues.
As soon as we can, we will publish the venue and dates for the Stockman's Challenges participating in the Triple Crown.
RULES FOR TRIPLE CROWN STOCKMAN'S CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
There are 3 divisions – Open, Ladies & Junior
Points will be awarded at 3 stockman’s challenges to decide the overall Triple Crown:
The points will be awarded to the top 20 placings – 1st place to receive 20 points – down to 20th receiving one point.
Women & Youths gain points in their own sections only - they cannot gain points in the Open Triple Crown.
EG: 15 women start in the Dalgety Challenge. They will be awarded 20 points for first, down to 5 points for 15th.
23 Women start in the Corryong Challenge – they will be awarded 20 points for first, down to 1 point 20th – the last 3 do not receive points.
In addition, Hawkesbury River Saddle Company are sponsoring a saddle for one section at each individual Challenge. These prizes will be presented on the day at each challenge:
We require from each Challenge Committee is the results from 1st to last for each section.
In the event of a points dispute, Hawkesbury River Saddle Co is able to view all the progressive scores for each competitor.
We at Hawkesbury River Saddle Co are committed to the Triple Crown - it has already proved itself as a draw card - with a big increase in competitor numbers at each challenge that we attended last year. The Triple Crown has brought sponsors, spectators and competitors together - which has to be good for the sport.
